Purpose:

Aclara Technologies, a leading technology company in the utility sector is looking for top-notch Senior Software Quality Engineers for our enterprise-class software applications. In this role, the candidate will actively participate in ensuring the quality of the software solutions. We expect this individual to be self-motivated and comfortable working as part of a large cross-functional team. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of test principles and best practices.

Essential Functions:

• Work with software engineering team and product owners to test innovative and mission critical web /mobile based solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability and adherence to development goals and principles.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Evaluate test cases, test plans, and test processes for completeness, effectiveness and efficiency.
• Design, develop and execute manual and automated test cases that ensure the software meets the intended requirements and quality standards
• Identify, document, record and track defects
• Perform thorough regression testing when defects are resolved
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet business needs
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software in production
• Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing quality issues
• Review software quality engineering processes and facilitate process improvement
• Evaluate and propose new tools and technologies to improve the overall QE process

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering and test automation
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Ability to write clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Knowledge in both white box and black box testing
• Knowledge in automated testing tools
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Experience in leading and managing software test activities

Preferred:

• Masters degree in Computer Science or related field.
