Senior Cloud Engineer (14539)

KEY ACTIVITIES
This Engineer will work collaboratively within the Cloud Operations team and support key Cloud initiatives. The Cloud Operations team is responsible for 24x7x365 support of the Cloud Infrastructure. You will work cross-functionally with the engineering and customer support teams to optimize the dev-ops process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Establish a continuous improvement plan for Cloud Operations, including technology reviews, root cause analysis, action reports analysis, and cloud portfolio review in order to ensure adequate infrastructure to provide a suitable operating environment(s) for critical applications. Implement infrastructure availability and performance monitoring to ensure platform uptime and performance.
• Release management and Operational life cycle of Retail products.
• Automate production operations processes.
• Develop, maintain and drive a culture of continuous enhancement for a robust knowledge management system for the Cloud Operations team and its partners
• Drive change through simplification and automation Work with the Cloud Operations team and various technical and engineering teams in supporting the implementations into the cloud infrastructure Hands-on operational support of the cloud infrastructure
• Provide input to project teams, including determining development and deployment strategies, including code management, continuous integration and other aspects of Dev Ops
• Researches and evaluate emerging cloud technologies and proactively recommend areas where they can bring business value
• Research, analyse and recommend approaches for solving difficult and challenging cloud operational issues
• Deploy and maintain a cloud network data centre infrastructure and processes necessary to safeguard data systems.
• Ensure the resilience, security, and reliability of operational technology systems in the cloud. Manage day-to-day operations of the services maintaining continuous availability.
• Operates large environments that are upgradeable without downtime.
• Develops plans and maintains disaster recovery and support. (active/standby, active-active).
• Maintain and improve operational procedures on failure management, monitoring, preventative maintenance, expansions, and upgrades.
• Develop, implement, and/or maintain procedures and automated processes to monitor and respond to outages, service degradation, or other events that may negatively affect the operational status of production, development, and corporate infrastructure.
• Routinely test and assess the technology operating environment, identifying and remediating any items that introduce unacceptable risk.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Experience: 6 to 10 years.
• 5 years’ experience working in development and production operations supporting a high available PaaS/ SaaS or cloud operation.
• Experience on Microsoft Azure Cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaS Services, (VPN, Load Balancers, Azure AD, Virtual Networks, etc.).
• Experience with Windows Server Administration
• Experience with configuring and deploying monitoring tools and troubleshooting in a cloud infrastructure preferably in Microsoft Azure platform to address performance and stability
• Hands-on experience with release automation (Azure DevOps), sysadmin, configuration and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment processes.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Technology Stack Azure, Windows Server, Virtualization, IIS, Active Directory, Networking, DNS, Load balancers Implementing Security best practices in the cloud.
• Strong experience with Microsoft MSSQL deployed as IaaS and PaaS. Ability to understand and write TSQL Queries.
• Strong experience with App Services, Function Apps.
• Experience in provisioning and configuration of Azure PaaS services including the managed database services
• Experience in working with Azure Data Factory
• First-hand experience in Azure infrastructure automation with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and Blueprints
• Experience in configuring Azure Active Directory (ADFS) for SSO with OpenId and SAML2.0
• Experience in configuring Azure Securities including the configuration of WAF, identity and access control, key, secrets and certificate management and securing App service-based applications
• Experience in configuring application monitoring with Azure Monitor and Application Insight
• Developed and maintained scripts using Power Shell, Python, etc.
• Sysadmin and maintain on-prem and cloud servers.
• Strong communication skills.
• Azure DevOps Engineer / Azure Solution Architect Expert certification preferred.
• Retail domain terminology will be helpful.
