This is a significant role in a fast-growing company providing and delivering solutions to companies in an Agile environment using industry-standard cloud technologies available on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. We are seeking a Director of Cloud Platform Services to join our Technology department. While coaching and managing a small team of Cloud and Software Engineers, you will use your passion for developing platform architectural strategies and infrastructure as code to play a key role on our Engineering Leadership team. You will have a direct impact on Wavicle's success by continuing to develop our internal Cloud Platform as a Service offering that our Engineering teams consume through standardized, self-service interfaces to deliver quality software and infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities

Lead a group of Cloud and Software Engineers in an Agile environment using cloud and dev-ops technologies such as Terraform, Cloudformation, Ruby, Python on AWS.

Work with Technical Leads & Software Architects across the organization to understand existing and upcoming needs, solicit feedback, and prioritize new features & functionality.

Deliver standardized, resilient, reliable, secure, and compliant infrastructure platform capabilities utilizing automation and infrastructure as code methodologies for DB platforms like Redshift, Snowflake.

Ensure the CPaaS product follows architectural models, best practices, and standards including compliance, security, cost efficiency, etc set forth by Cloud Operations and Architecture.

Collaborate with the Engineering Enablement team to ensure software CI/CD practices integrate with the service interfaces developed by the team.

Develop and publish documentation, metrics, and monitoring related to cloud migrations for DB platforms from On-Premise to Redshift, Snowflake etc.

Deep knowledge of Cloud Platform as a Service (IaaS & PaaS) architecture, patterns, and antipatterns.

Experience working in Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc - AWS preferred

Prior experience as a Cloud Engineer, Software Engineer, Architect or Technical Product Owner a plus

Expertise in implementing data warehousing methodologies using Cloud database systems like AWS RDS (MySQL, Postgres), Redshift, Snowflake etc.

Hands-on experience in migrating MPP databases (Teradata, Oracle, Netezza) to Cloud data warehouse platforms like Redshift, Snowflake, Big Query, and Synapse.

Experience with end-to-end design and build process of Near-Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines, expertise with SQL and data modeling.

AWS Architecture Level certification.
