What you will do: 

• Responsible to design, develop and maintain Spark, Scala and other interpretive languages such as Python with Hadoop on requirements provided by business side.
• Have hands on experience with Hadoop ecosystem and related technologies (Cloudera, Hive, Impala, Pig, Java etc.).
• Clarify business requirements for new initiatives and; interfaces with the users, external and internal support teams to identify and help resolve production problems.
• Prepare detailed specifications; and technical guidance to his/her web development peers on their efforts.
• Devise and/or suggest modifications to procedures that would in effect help to solve complex problems considering system applications, computer equipment capacity, operating time and desired results.

Responsibilities:

• Develops data-centric applications utilizing Java based languages (such as Spark & Scala), and other interpretive languages such as Python with Hadoop.
• Document all the applications.
• Unit test applications.
• Provide 3rd tier support for production systems.
• Mentor junior developer.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Math, etc.)
• 4 years of hands on experience in developing applications with Hadoop ecosystem and related technologies (Cloudera, Hive, Impala, Spark/Scala/Python etc.)
• 2 Years of J2EE.
• 1 Year of Spring Framework (Preferred).
• Experience with a variety of tools in the Hadoop space such as Solr, Kafka, Hbase (Strongly Preferred).
