The Digital Experience team is responsible solving client experience with new technologies that are often a step beyond the business today. We research, build, test, and iterate on creating an enterprise wide design system that benefit our clients as well as longer-term product scalability. Schwab has a long history of questioning the status quo - whether it be the 24/7 quotes, or online brokerage, or the start of a mutual fund marketplace.

What you are good at

As a web Developer of the Digital team, you will be a key participant in the Digital transformation program, helping Schwab innovate on behalf of clients and investors. You will be part of implementing design system which will be used across all of Schwab applications. You will be responsible for getting safe and resilient production code out the door as quickly as possible. You will be producing highly usable and scalable web software solutions. You will be working with different web domains, UX teams and Product management teams.

• You will be responsible for implementing technical solutions for Design system
• You will be responsible to create secure, reusable, available and reliable production ready components.
• You will work with business stakeholders and UX teams to understand requirements and help develop right solutions looking from technology and also from client's perspective
• You will work with other engineering groups to understand the domain applications to come up with a solution that can be used across different applications.

What you have

• 5-7 years Web development experience, with an emphasis on front-end UI/UX development
• Skill with native JavaScript, including ECMAScript 6, CSS, HTML and experience with Web Components, Node and Angular, or other similar JS frameworks,
• Understanding of Design systems like Google's material design
• Experience with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies
• Application performance evaluation and tuning skills
• Web Accessibility experience
• Experience and comfort communicating with senior executives and the ability to gain respect and support of leadership, partners, and peers
• Strong interpersonal skills and must exemplify the vision and values of Schwab
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science OR related practical experience
• 4+ years of experience working in cross-functional projects and programs with tight deadlines
