Job Description:
Ferguson is looking for a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for internal and external-facing systems. In this position, you will contribute to business plans regarding server and network infrastructure technology that is required to maintain company operations and competitiveness. You will need to recognize new developments in systems technology and anticipate organizational modifications. You will also be responsible in ensuring that system uptime and performance requirements are met.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Execution of technology projects, including but not limited to new business development projects, new systems implementation, phone server upgrades, and all IT related responsibilities inside of Ferguson.
  • Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and various internal teams.
  • Assisting with the planning, design, research, and acquisition of new or upgraded network systems and recommends modifications to equipment, as necessary.
  • Responsible for all processes involving systems engineering, change management, disaster recovery, monitoring, alerting and security provisioning.
  • Troubleshooting problems with servers, network devices, software, peripheral equipment, and making repairs and corrections where required.
  • Anticipating and correcting potential issues by making recommendations and changes to our
    server and network architecture.
  • Protecting Ferguson systems from data loss, theft, and/or attacks
  • Assisting with the professional development of team members



Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience with Servers, Storage, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
  • Cloud Network Management including, but not limited to, AWS and Azure
  • Advanced understanding of the following:VMware Administration
  • Windows and Linux Administration
  • Network Administration
  • Use of secure protocols: SSL, SSH, PKI
  • DHCP and DNS
  • PRTG, Air watch, Sensu or other monitoring software
  • Storage Area Networks (Pure Storage, Nimble)



Recommended Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in high traffic, high availability e-commerce environment is a huge plus!
  • Backup and Recovery
  • Experience with PEN testing, IDS, and corporate data security
  • Experience with PCI or HIPPA compliance
  • Cisco, Brocade, and PAN Devices
  • Wireless networking
  • Active Directory Administration
