Job Description

JOB TITLE:

Sr Application/Database Developer (Python or C-based language/s + PL/SQL)

JOB PURPOSE:

Position provides high level engineering expertise across the full lifecycle of the systems, services and solutions provided by the Enterprise Identity and Access Engineering group. The Enterprise Identity and Access Engineering group provides the full spectrum of identity and access management services and solutions. This includes but is not limited to identity databases, identity related data feeds and integrations, authentication and federation services (radius, ADFS, SAML, LDAP, CAS, etc.), user credential provisioning automation, password management, and end-user IAM self-service portal.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s from an accredited institution of higher learning in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 6+ total yrs of Development & Database experience
  • Oracle PL/SQL database experience
  • 2+ yrs of Programming/Development experience – KSU doesn't care which language/s a candidate uses, as long as it’s Python or C-based (PHP, Perl, Java, C++, C#, etc.)
    • KSU prefers candidates with 2 or more these languages
    • KSU is not wanting candidates who are mainly web developers
  • 2+ yrs of experience doing development on mission critical/Enterprise systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working in higher education

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Envision, design and implement the full lifecycle of enterprise Identity and Access related systems, services and solutions, ensuring their quality, stability, recoverability, and security
  • Develops and automates complex data integrations for IAM data across multiple critical systems
  • Drives root cause analysis, debugging, support and post-mortem analysis for security incidents and service interruptions
  • Automates complex system management tasks
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex problems
  • Develops and maintains documentation of systems, services, processes and procedures
  • Mentors junior staff
  • Provides on call support responding to incidents on nights and weekends
