SOFTWARE ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD - Top Secret Clearance Required

The Software Engineering Team Lead will bring proven experience leading technical teams, managing client expectations, and working in a fast-paced Operations & Maintenance (O&M) environment.

As a Team Lead in our Practice you will:

• Manage staffing and offer mentoring to a full-stack development team
• Instill best practices for software development and documentation
• Oversee maintenance and enhancements for existing custom software
• Prepare project schedules and a one-year roadmap
• Facilitate prioritization and tradeoffs with the client Product Owner and IT Program Manager
• Report status of development, operations, and system performance to management on a weekly basis
• Coordinate O&M activities, including patching and application upgrades

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University
• Must be able to obtain and/or maintain required Top Secret Clearance for this role
• Ability to work from Arlington, VA / Washington DC metro area
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Desired Skills:

• 7+ years professional experience in software development or systems engineering
• 5+ years of people leadership - must be able to lead, drive, and energize a team of multiple skills and job disciplines
• Experience maintaining legacy systems and software applications
• Solid understanding of O&M and ability to own O&M tasking
• Highly adaptive to priority changes and multi-tasking
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of best practices across the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Programming experience in, at least, one modern programming language (.NET, C#)
• Agile, SCRUM or Kanban experience

We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.

Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.
