Global Security Systems and Technology Data Analytics Security Informatics Developer (Automation & Integration Team)

The Global Security Systems & Technology Team programs and commissions Facebook's security systems, implements best-in-class technology, and partners with other teams within Facebook to enhance the security systems experience.

In partnership with internal business stakeholders, security, and engineering teams, the Security Informatics Developer will be responsible for delivering and supporting automation and system integration solutions. Additionally, the Security Informatics Developer will lead enhancements and small-scale projects (from inception to production) focusing on creating and maintaining online web tools for automation, and data pipelines for integration. The perfect candidate will have a background in web programming and scripting languages, a history of working with build relational database and large data sets.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Data Engineering team to understand existing security data and identification of opportunities to drive continuous process improvement
• Work with internal cross functional teams to identify business requirements
• Build key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis
• Translate business needs to technical specifications and create Technical Requirement Documents (TRDs)
• Create relational database schema and tables
• Build web-based UI for collecting large data sets
• Implement scripting to automate work processes
• Create ETL data pipelines employing engineering best practices
• Maintain internal tool usage and conduct health checks

Qualifications:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics or related majors
• 5+ years of industry or equivalent academic experience in data engineering or analytics
• Experience with web programming or scripting languages. Python is preferred. PHP , Javascript, shell or any other scripting languages will also help.
• Extensive SQL experience including stored procedures, complex joins, creation of views, database scripting and performance tuning
• Extensive knowledge of Relational Databases, including data architectures and structures and development
• Extensive experience of building User Interfaces/Data Tools
• Experience implementing code best practices and review processes
• Experience with Project Management
• Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
• Must be extremely flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities on very tight deadlines
• Advanced MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Access; SharePoint
