Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
• Establishes an understanding of current and desired business process designing solutions aligned to comprehensive assessments of design impacts upon people, process, and technology.
• Acts as advocate for the business client as an authority on technical capabilities and functional architecture designed to address client business problems.
• Translates the business client's requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for complex solutions and enabling platforms.
• Provides technical direction in support of the Assured and Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM) process.
• Provides direction for planning, design, and execution activities.
• Participates in the conceptual phases of identifying and solving business problems and initiatives.
• Participates in development of high-level estimates in support of business case development.
• Understands enterprise architecture roadmaps and promotes solutions that make progress towards that vision.
• Creates solution architecture diagrams and other design artifacts representing the approach and effect of new proposed solutions.
• Collaborates closely with and guide development teams during all phases of the development lifecycle with emphasis on native cloud, serverless, and containerized solutions. Hands-on experience with JAVA and MEAN stacks are desired.
• Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create a modernization roadmap. Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources and infusing key Infrastructure technologies (e.g. Windows and Linux IaaS, Kubernetes, Security, Networking, etc.)
• Experience with Middleware technology, architecture and design for cloud and premise-based solutions.
• The Solution Architect partners with the business to understand needs and identify solution strategies that align with Cox's architecture roadmaps and standards, leverage existing common solutions and services, meet financial targets (cost and benefits), and minimize risk.
• Experience transitioning premise based applications to the cloud - AWS preferred.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
• 10+ years' experience working across one or more relevant industries (i.e., telecommunications, media, or management information systems)
• 3+ years' experience in a business process design, business analyst, or solution architecture role, providing solution guidance and leadership to matrixed teams.
• 5+ years' experience in full development life cycle, with significant experience in delivering applications and solutions in a production environment.
• 5+ years' experience leading in the design and implementation of Application, Integration, and Data Architectures.
• 5+ years of deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e. Windows and Linux IaaS, SAP, BCDR, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, containers and Infra as a code technologies) required
• Continuous integration technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure for DevOps, Chef, Puppet);
• Web application server technologies, cloud application design, software architecture and practices; (design/development/deployment, Agile, SCRUM, ALM) • one or more of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Java, Node.js, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, Pig/Hive
• Experience using integrated development environments (e.g. Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, XCode, WebSphere) targeting Android, iOS, Linux, Windows, public clouds (i.e. Azure, AWS)
• Experience with scalable architectures using Amazon AWS App Service, API management, serverless technologies, container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry etc.), API management, microservice frameworks etc.
• Individual should have strong analytical skills and be capable of translating complex business problems into conceptual solutions that fit the business need.
• Individual should have strong leadership, communication and relationship skills.
• Individual should have a proven track record of working autonomously in an unstructured environment, using critical thinking and decision-making skills to drive out solutions to complex, often ambiguous problems

Preferred:
• BS/BA in related discipline (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Admin, or related educational focus)
• Cloud architecture certification (beyond associate architecture)
• Experience in telecommunications industry desired
• Experience in wireless telecommunications desired
• Experience and working knowledge of cable industry products and network technology
