Principal duties/Roles and responsibilities:

Successful candidates will bring a combination of development and operations experience together into a single role. Our environment is focused on Bluemix and Cloud Foundry with heavy integration to many traditional environments, distributed and mainframe. Being able to articulate how development and operations requirements combine for individual scrum teams is crucial.



Working in a DevOps culture, embed into development agile scrum teams to facilitate application resilience requirements.

Assist development and devops team members in design and implementation with resilience in mind.

Organize and conduct resilience testing (non-production game day).

Facilitate the update of support documentation.

Update process and procedures to improve operational team awareness and capabilities for new release.

Understands DevOps principles and practices.

Has the experience to easily participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.

Keep track of Known errors/defects.

Facilitate the knowledge transfer and training of Level 1.5 & 2 support resources on new features/changes.



Required Skills/Must Have:

Excellent troubleshooter, utilizing a systematic problem-solving approach.

Team Orientation with a demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions.

Practical experience in Cloud environments AWS, IBM Bluemix, or Azure:a. Cloud Foundry (preferred);b. PaaS (preferred).

Extensive experience with at least one flavor of UNIX: Linux, Solaris, AIX, BSD, etc.

Fluent in UNIX commands and scripting.

Strong understanding of monitoring systems and operational needs.

Working knowledge of networking concepts: functions of firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, virtual IPs, DNS.

Strong understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST).

Working knowledge of Dynatrace and Splunk (preferred).

Working knowledge of supporting Node.JS, Java, or both microservice applications in production:a. development experience in these architectures (strongly preferred).

Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket/Github, Slack, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory.

Functional knowledge of Spring Configuration Service (preferred).
