Your role

Are you a solid Java Developer with hands on Agile Software delivery experience? Do you have the courage to challenge the status quo while making sure your hard pressed team makes its deliveries?

We're looking for an hands on IT Lead to:
• manage software delivery teams
• look after our team through motivation, career development, and retention
• take part in the recruitment process to build up our team
• identify infrastructure issues or other inefficiencies in the environment and drive solutions
• dive implementation of key processes across teams (requirements and change management, acceptance criterion, continuous integration, delivery quality standards, fine tuning to Agile approach)
• ensure sharing of best practices/business domain knowledge/exploiting synergies between teams
• provide hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, continuous integration, domain driven design and test or behavior driven development
• communicate with people at all levels

Your team

You will be working on the trading floor, building solutions that support the users in the RFQ and pricing space. You will be part of the Derivatives and Solutions IT team, which covers FX, Rates & Equities derivatives. You will own and support applications that are mission critical and you will be required to face off against IT and the business when required. You will be seated in our New York office based in midtown.

Your expertise

• a four year bachelor's degree or the international equivalent in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering or a related field
• ideally 10 years of full-time experience in IT and 3 years in a leading/management position
• expert level development skills in Java
• solid SDLC understanding and implementation experience (Agile)
• experience in working in Financial Services Industry
• demonstrable experience of delivering Java enterprise solutions at scale
• experience in the following technologies highly desirable: built RESTful and Kafka Stream driven micro-services, avro, Docker, Kubernetes, Maven
• hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, continuous integration, domain driven design and TDD/BDD using using Cucumber, JUnit and Mockito
• command and Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) and Event Sourcing
• able to manage and mentor developers
