Founded in 2007, Initiate Government Solutions (IGS) a Woman Owned Small Business, specializes in healthcare information solutions with an emphasis on technology spectrum. IGS partners with government and commercial clients to tackle the most challenging healthcare information technology issues including large scale implementations, business informatics, analytics, and electronic health record support.

IGS is currently recruiting for a remote .Net C# Developer to support our work with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

Responsibilities and Duties (Included but limited to):

• Create software development plans and strategies and include in weekly report or technical guide
• Work as a team sharing code using GitHub, Azure DevOps, TFS (Team Foundation Server) or similar tool
• Conduct quality control of software development and include in weekly report
• Conduct proactive risk identification and mitigation of software development process
• Develop and implement various classes and algorithms and include in weekly report
• Interact with databases, metadata and database design and indexing
• Perform Code Trouble shooting and unit testing
• Write quality code documentation and comment all code for any application or modification to an existing application
• Conduct quality control of software development and include in weekly report
• Conduct proactive risk identification and mitigation of software development process and include in weekly report
• Perform root cause analysis, outline corrective action, and identify mitigation strategies for production issues and include in weekly report
• Rigorously test code and user interfaces and include in weekly report
• Code to SOAP and REST APIs and document all code in technical Guide and track source code in repository
• Store documentation in a central location like MS SharePoint or another centralized repository
• Perform Web development (ASP.NET and Cache ZEN) and environment setup within a secure environment (SSL/TLS) and include Documentation and User Guides for any applications or modifications that are written or performed
• Code development using Eclipse, Visual Studio or similar tools with .NET Core, Traditional .Net, .Net Standard and other versions
• Create interfaces with InterSystems Cache via Web Services or other secure mechanisms and include documentation and user guides for any applications or modifications that are written or performed
• Create software using MVC or other appropriate architectures and include technical Documentation and User Guides for any applications or modifications that are written or performed
• Code in .Net and other languages to include, but not limited to: Java, MVC, TSQL, XML, JSON, HTML, AJAX, FHIR, HL7, Python, R, Cache' Object Script, HealthShare, C#, SAS - Statistical Applications for Sciences (Enterprise Miner, Grid), Visual Studio/Eclipse, JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, ArcGIS, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and other similar DB's., Tableau and document any changes or modification in Technical Guides and create or modify user documentation to adjust for changes made
• Utilize Agile software development methodology for software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Create software using C#, SQL, ASP.net, MSSQL, JavaScript, jQuery and various JavaScript libraries, Visual Studio, Eclipse, SSIS and include Documentation and User Guides for any applications or modifications that are written or performed
• Provide Technical Guides on Configurations and Code Libraries
• Document activities, system issues, additions, or modifications as part of the Weekly .NET Development Status Report; Technical Guide on Configurations and Code Libraries; Documentation and User guides for software as required; Weekly .NET Development Status Report

Qualifications:

• BS Degree: computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
• At least 10 years of experience; 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
• Senior level code experience using .Net and other languages and standards to include, but not limited to: Java, TSQL, XML, JSON, HTML, AJAX, FHIR, HL7, Python, R, Cache' Object Script, HealthShare, C#, SAS - Statistical Applications for Sciences (Enterprise Miner, Grid), Visual Studio/Eclipse, JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, ArcGIS, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and other similar DB's
• Understanding of Agile Development Mythology for SDLC
• Ability to work remotely as part of a team, or independently with little supervision or direction
• Active VA Public Trust or ability to obtain and maintain

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:

• Prior experience supporting federal contracts focused on Health IT
• Current VA Public Trust
