Pre Sales IT Security Engineer

Client delivers proactive services such as Penetration Testing, Red Team Assessments, and General Controls / Leading Practice Security Assessments; Advisory consulting through our CISO Advisory practice; Incident Response & Forensic Analysis and an integrated security monitoring and response capability. The Presales Consultant role bridges the Account Management (Sales), Professional Services (Delivery), and Threat Operations (Managed Detection & Response) groups to support business development efforts.

Technical presales personnel are seasoned Information Security practitioners with deep experience in consulting who directly interface with our prospects/clients to identify, develop, and actively drive forward opportunities that address their needs. An effective Presales Consultant moves seamlessly between audiences, translating technical security terms to executive/management personnel, and can also relate business requirements to hands-on project stakeholders. This customer facing position requires a service-first approach to engagement and the Presales Consultant determines the appropriate approach collaboratively with our clients.

Client is seeking a Presales Engineer to consult with clients and assist sales executives on recommending, engineering, and pricing the appropriate services and solutions for clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evangelize and demonstrate Security services to prospects, customers, and partners via presentations and product demos.
  • Subject Matter Expert on Information Security both internally and externally, demonstrate knowledge of client services and solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of trends, risks, solutions and the ability to drive thought leadership for our organization and the greater Information Security industry.
  • Proactively engage Account Management to accelerate business.
  • Build and maintain prospect and partner relationships.
  • Develop Statements of Work (SoWs) with Account Management to address customer needs with our capabilities.
  • Develop both internally and externally facing collateral that informs the target audience and markets our company.
  • Deliver presentations to customer/prospect personnel that captures our message and highlights our ability to deliver outcomes.
  • Engage clients as well as our Professional Services and Threat Operations teams for successful transition of projects, feedback and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree from four-year University (or equivalent).
  • Mid-level (3-5 years of experience) with technical experience gained through recent security-related employment, classwork, or internships.
  • Established and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to technical audiences and be able to gracefully handle objections in the moment.
  • Ability to effectively and quickly assess client/prospect needs.
  • Commitment to quality work, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ownership of work deliverables.
  • Validated and proven technical track record with securing or assessing Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructures and configuration.
  • Knowledge of IT security technologies and best practices.
  • Security sales aptitude.
  • Industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, OSCP, or MCSE a plus.
  • Strong competency in security process/workflow (e.g., Threat and Vulnerability Management).
  • Understanding of Security Policy, Compliance, and Audit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical and business skills, including project management knowledge.
  • Excellent attitude and a self-starter who takes strong accountability for personal results.
  • Demonstrated track record of ability to learn quickly.
