We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Security Engineer to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC.

Job Description:

Senior Network Security Engineer, to support and manage next generation firewall technologies within a sensitive data computer network enclave. Responsibilities would include, assisting with specifying firewall products, installing firewall & security products, managing configurations , continued support of firewall systems throughout the projects steady state operations. Firewall & Security products in use or interest, include; F5 Big-IP, Checkpoint, Cisco, Dell or Fortinet. Additional work would entail maintaining best practices routines with regards to routine DISA STIG reviews, product firmware/software updates, configuration, security mitigation and other actions to maintain vendor compliance and support options.

Additional expectation to assist, as a redundant peer, support of current Cisco, Brocade and Dell data switching products within enclave. Maintaining best practice routines with regarding configurations, configuration backup management and routine DISA STIG reviews, while performing actions needed to maintain vendor product lifecycle support.

Other duties as needed: Assist with troubleshooting various technologies with project technical stakeholders. Troubleshoot network communication issues within, near and outside the enclave as needed with US DoD technical representatives.

Personal needs would include maintaining industry or product technical certifications, governmental clearance and pursuing new education opportunities with an eye for newer related technologies, which could be applied within the project.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in ITIL concepts and framework, providing expertise to guide ITSM and ITIL implementations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent related field experience)
  • Minimum 6 years of overall experience with Cisco Hardware, CheckPoint Firewall configuration, F5, Big IP, Fortinet, HA Proxy configuration
  • Expertise in TCP/IP Configurations, FTP, Active Directory, LAN/VLAN/WAN Configuration, DHCP/DNS/Domain Controller
  • Strong working knowledge DoD network infrastructure, security requirements, and processes
  • Ability to interact with team members at all levels, including business operations, technology, and management
  • DoDD 8140.01/8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical Level I (IAT Level 1) Certification (Security+ CE, Network+ CE or higher, in combination with: CCNP, CCNA, Server+ CE, or related
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • U.S. citizen
  • Current Secret Security Clearance, or obtainable
  • Ability to work within maintenance windows/off peak hours when needed

  • Experience with ServiceNow, putty, WinSCP, Wireshark, UNIX Systems
