The successful candidate works with a team of dedicated to supporting the DHS OneNet Network Infrastructure.? Develop and finely tune Network Monitoring devices, ensure all devices on DHS network are manageable, ensure security access control for personal.? Develop network reports when called upon to do so or as needed to fulfill customers request. As someone who thinks outside the box, you?ll enjoy designing and implementing solutions to interesting engineering problems. Uses past experiences to identify constraints and employ creative solutions to break bottlenecks, improve processes, and create efficiencies.

As a Sr. Network Management Tools Engineer, you?ll be responsible for helping with the evaluation, development, and configuration of various Network Management tools and applications. Our team works closely with Tier 2, Tier 3 Operations and project Engineers.? As well as project managers to find determine the best solutions for development and maintenance across the DHS. The work location for this position is the beautiful New National Harbor, MD.

 

 

What You?ll Get to Do:

 

In particular, this role functions as first point of escalation for Tier I and is expected to:???

  • Become a subject-matter expert (SME) for a wide subset of tools and application including the Spectrum, CA-PAM, TACACS, HPNA, ASA-AnyConnect, Verisign, Akamai, Infoblox, CISCO routers, and Net Scout.
  • Provide expert setup, configuration, support, troubleshooting, usage guidance, and training to our engineering staff for supported tools and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with team members from all parts of the development lifecycle, from development to operations to security, solving technical challenges, and providing and receiving guidance and mentorship.
  • Enhance existing and implement new tools to integrate with continuous delivery of systems and reporting.
  • Work closely with management and technical teams on understanding the overall direction/scope of various projects and translate those into effective processes and artifacts.
  • Provide effective solutions to complex Network Management engineering problems.
  • Experience in DNS, Cisco IOS, Spectrum, HPNA, VPN, and Network Administration
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies and practices.
  • Ability to multi-task with numerous actives running concurrently
  • Experience as a Network Monitoring Tools.
  • SME Experience with any of following CA Privileged Access Manager (CAPAM), HPNA, Spectrum, INFOBLOX (DNS), CISCO IOS (TACACS, SNMP), NetScout.
  • Familiarity/Knowledge with NMT tools like Solarwinds/Steel Central/Dynatrace/Splunk
  • Service now Design/Flow and Methodology (DATABASE QUERIES)



You?ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience with development, maintenance, and on-going actions related to continuous integration, automation and development of network tools.
  • Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) Environment.
  • Experience in DNS, Cisco IOS, Spectrum, HPNA, VPN, and Network Administration
  • ship is required along with the ability to secure and retain a DHS Compartmental security clearance
