Lead Python Developer

Our direct client, a fast-growing energy trading firm based in Stamford, is seeking a Lead Python developer to design and develop applications across the entire organization – from trading, operations, finance, reporting…etc. Great opportunity for greenfield development. Client is looking for a highly proficient, team-oriented, and hands-on software engineer who can assist the company transform from a traditional retail-energy provider into the next-generation AI-enabled energy platform. This position will be primarily responsible for building an energy platform to support delivery of energy products and related services nationwide. This position will also ensure coordination with other teams including but not limited to sales, supply, trading, finance, accounting, legal and risk.
Client is motivated to hire; process will move quickly for qualified candidates. Initially, it will be 100% remote until the office is reopened later this year, onsite work will be required in Stamford.

Qualifications

• Tools/Frameworks: Angular/JS, React, Django/Flask, PostgreSQL, REST API, JSON, Excel, Power/BI or Tableau
• Languages: Python, SQL, HTML5, CSS, VBA, JavaScript
• Experience with Relational and NoSQL database technologies
• Deliver software using industry best practices such as Git/SVN, Jira, CI/CD, Automated testing
• Integrate external systems using proprietary and REST API

• User interface development: web-based and mobile dashboards
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external 3^rd party vendors
• Ability to work across the stack as necessary, from device to cloud
• Understanding of automated testing, deployment processes and tools
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
• 10+ years professional experience
• Familiarity with cloud-based practices and tools highly desired
• Passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions
• Energy industry experience is a plus
