Job Title: JAVA Engineer (Java, SQL, large data sets)
Location: Midtown, NY
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 6-12 months
Candidates must be W2! No C2C or third parties!!
Client will consider solid back end Java Developers with solid experience working with SQL and large data sets. The AWS and Snowflake are pluses, not required.
Essential Functions:

• Design, architect, develop Data solutions using Java, Kafka and AWS
• Design, develop data processing and streaming pipelines using one of more of Elasticsearch, NiFi, Apache Kafka, Apache Kafka connect, Apache Spark, and other technologies like Dockerr/Kubernetes.
• Prepare architecture documents, user guides, diagrams, and briefings to convey complex technical information to a wide range of audiences
• Proficiency in SQL joins, queries, date conversion functions across a wide variety of platforms including Oracle, SQL server, Impala, Hive, Postgres, Snow QL
• Develop REST APIs in Java

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
• 3+ years of development experience (Java) using Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices, etc.
• Experience with Snowflake Cloud data warehouse
• Experience performing data Management, modeling, and warehousing
• Experience using Agile software development methods in a DevOps environment
• Experience with J2EE full stack development, Web Services
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to work independently and understand complex technical terms/material
