Role: Java Architect / Lead / Sr Java Engineers

Location: NY (Remote)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Senior Level Java Engineer/Architect level who has a passion for - and experience. Someone who lives and breathes Thread Dumps, Heap Dumps, tuning the JVM, and so on. This person will sling Java code like the best of 'em but their day-to-day responsibility will be making Java-based applications hum.

• Java 1.8+
• Multithreading & Concurrency - i.e. they know the internals of the JVM intimately
• Large, distributed, Cloudy environment experience (can be AWS, PCF, Google Cloud Platform, CloudFoundry, etc. Azure doesn't buy us much)
• Back-End focused.
• CI/CD
• Microservices preferred. RESTful Services & APIs.
• Unit Testing expertise (at Mastercard Engineers are required to provide full Test Coverage in their Pull Requests)
• Thick skin
• A brain and learning style that is highly adaptable.
• Personal accountability is huge - once you lick the lollipop, you own it.
• Engineers need to be able to make logical assumptions, make decisions and join dots.
• Waiting around expecting to be given the answer to a question is not acceptable there.
• Engineers are required to take full ownership and make sh1t happen.

In addition:

• Positions are Work from Home for the foreseeable future.
• 2+ years is extremely feasible.
• The candidate has to do a Code Challenge before the interview
