Overview / primary role:

 

 

    • To manage the resolution of first line support incidents, problems and requests within service and operational level agreements, working with third parties and colleagues within the wider head office and IT team where necessary 

 

    • To provide support and technical assistance to all colleagues across different geographical locations, making an important contribution to overall IT service delivery and providing an excellent standard of service 

 

 

Main responsibilities:

 

 

    • To analyse incidents and deliver technical resolutions as part of the IT support service, to contribute to an efficient and effective IT service desk.

 

    • Review tickets within Service Management systems using established priorities.

 

    • Man the helpdesk telephone system on a daily basis to resolve issues for end users.

 

    • Day to day first line support for all end users across multiple platforms including GSuite, Windows 10, Windows Server and macOS.

 

    • Manage and support users within the Google environment utilising GSuite.

 

    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure related problems, including employee desktop.

 

    • Learn to deliver end user introductory training on IT systems.

 

    • Undertake daily operational checks as defined and trained by the wider team.

 

    • Participate in projects as required.

 

    • Track company IT assets using software tools.

 

    • Configure and maintain PCs and laptops for end users.

 

    • Deploy and install software to computers

 

    • Perform password resets and help end users with profile and connectivity issues.

 

    • Allow and remove access to folders and email distribution lists

 

    • Perform basic proactive tasks for backups and learn how to restore backups.

 

    • Carry out any other duties as required by the IT Manager 

 

 

Desired skills, qualities and experience:

 

 

    • Demonstrable experience in providing advice and support to customers and stakeholders about IT desktop, infrastructure and business applications

 

    • Ability to interpret and translate less complex business and systems problems into technical resolutions and solutions

 

    • Enthusiasm and positive attitude to communicating with a range of end users and stakeholders

 

    • The candidates approach to the role is the most important aspect / adaptable and eager

 

    • They must have a positive attitude, want to help people and be willing to learn

 

    • Ability to work to tight deadlines as well as managing expectation internally and externally

 

    • Willing to support out of hours on occasions when needed to react to unexpected issues 

 

 

Desired qualifications: 

 

 

    • 5 GCSE’s, grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
