Ciber is searching for a 100% hands-on Full Stack Java Developer Lead / Manager to work REMOTE through COVID then 100% on-site in Washington, DC after COVID.

This person will be a Principal Level, Full Stack Java Developer Lead/Manager will have deep experience leading and managing SDLC while participating 100% with the hands-on development. The Principal Level Full Stack Java Developer Lead will be responsible for producing secure, quality, and reliable code to support a digital membership acquisition. The Full Stack Java Developer Lead will work in a cross-functional environments, working closely with business teams, product teams & design teams to produce new digital experiences and optimize current digital experiences.

The Day-to-Day Duties:

  • 100% hands-on Full Stack Java Developer
  • Balances 100% hands-on development with Team lead/management responsibilities delivering tasks not limited to design documents, estimates, creating documents for development work, and communicating with vendors (lead / management required shown below)
  • Developing using Java 8 +- Spring 4.0/5.0 (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch)
  • Works with other team leads, other developers, and vendors in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Leading a mix of on-shore / off-shore developers (team size is currently 4).
  • Focusing on how to keep the team moving, anticipate/prevent/remove roadblocks to stay on target.
  • Work in an Agile Scrum environment (Kanban, but not required) using related Agile management tools.
  • Providing production support.
  • Strong understanding/experience working with Web UI/UX, digital.

This person needs to be a strong Developer! A strong leader! A strong manager! Someone who enjoys balancing on-going priorities. Someone who doesn't mind working long hours. A real go-getter!

The Must Have s:

  • Principal level developer lead experience. Not just being a lead, but managing the SDLC - more details below.
  • 10+ years of experience in progressing roles
  • Recent hands-on development within the past 2-3 years - in any role
  • Java 8+ (Java 7 is will not be enough)
  • Spring Framework 4.0 and/or Spring Framework 5.0 (spring framework, spring batch, spring cloud)
  • ANY Cloud - any can be Amazon Cloud (AWS), MS AZURE Cloud, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), or any other cloud platform experience, Highly preferred: Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
  • Hibernate
  • Web Services
  • GIT or similar -similar distributed version control repository exposure like Bitbucket, Mercurial, SVN, etc.
  • CI/CD
  • Agile
  • Test Driven Methodology (TDD)
  • Java Testing Frameworks - Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Spock, Selenium
  • Relational database -MySQL, Oracle, SQL, etc.
  • One of these: ReactJS, AngularJS, VueJS or Ember -Preference for ReactJS

The ***MUST-HAVE's*** on the functional ***MANAGEMENT*** experience...

This person will be wokring in a in a client-facing role. This person will be representing Ciber - a face of Ciber. This person will be the GLUE between the client and delivery. The go-to.

  • Prefer, 5+ years of current lead / management experience - Principal Level.
  • You'll need experience with management activities - not just having lead a team
  • Be the glue between the
  • Activities including things like managing off-shore / on-shore teams, ensures deadlines are met, remove roadblocks, provide technical guidance, escalate blockages, keep track and organize communication and items, keep things moving forward, interface between groups like biz, qa, production etc.
  • True agile team management / working in sprints/ breaking down features into user stores, giving estimates - being solely responsible for manegment activities
  • Stepping in when the PM is overloaded. Doing things like working with 3rd party vendors, come up with documentation, etc.
