Due to growth, we are looking to add a skilled Data Analyst to join our team.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear answers to business questions and insights into operation by leveraging data.
  • Perform all levels of analytics: Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive, and Prescriptive.
  • Communicate with stakeholders at every level of the company: from customer-facing employees to C-level management.
  • Understand and utilize data across the company: Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Accounting, Web, Manufacturing, External data, etc.
  • Create and share reports/dashboards with actionable information. Develop KPIs.
  • Provide relevant data to decision makers.
  • Be proactive and curious: look for insights and opportunities within the data that can provide a positive business impact. Ask and answer questions in the company's vocabulary to drive analysis.


You should know the following:

  • Very strong in SQL for efficiently querying relational databases (selecting/joining/filtering).
  • Wrangling, cleaning, and validating data using SQL and R/Python on large datasets.
  • Working with and combining both structured and unstructured data.
  • Creating meaningful data visualizations to convey findings to both technical and non-technical audiences:
  • Using PowerBI or similar BI platform (Tableau, etc) to publish and share insights.
  • Developing a narrative for business users to follow.
  • Scripting with Python (Pandas) and/or R.
  • Performing statistical analysis. Hypothesis testing.
  • Time series data (decomposition, forecasting).
  • Written and verbal communication with business stakeholders.
  • Explaining and demonstrating how data & analytics can be used to drive strategic decisions.


Preferred skills:

  • Domain knowledge in wholesale/retail business.
  • Using machine learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised) to identify patterns and relationships within the data.
  • Data mining non-relational / unstructured data sources: Web APIs, JSON, scraping web sites.
  • Time series anomaly detection.
  • Dimensionality reduction.
  • Document clustering.
  • Recommendation engines.
  • Working with cloud platforms: AWS/Azure.
