Description:

The Application Architect will work as part of the Emerging Technologies solution delivery team. The position will play a key role by developing solution to business problems found in the Corporate areas that span across numerous business groups. The Application Architect will work closely with those business groups to review system needs and work to determine the appropriate solutions. This position will then work to implement the selected solution by using the appropriate integration architecture, performing software installation, coding, testing, and project management skills. The position will also be required to maintain and support these software systems, or ensure the systems are handed off to the appropriate team. This job will include working closely with business analysts and customers to gather requirements in order to ensure the customer’s business needs and expectations are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Problem solving to de-bug software problems and to find integration connection issues will be a key part of this job as well.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with all business groups that this position supports.
• Design, code, test and implement software systems.
• Handling any system problems and change requests in a timely fashion.
• Provide system documentation as needed.
• Complete all assignments using the standard ITIL change procedures.
• Review system needs for these business groups and provide recommendations for solutions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates a solid general knowledge of relevant technologies.
• Must be flexible and able to manage multiple systems, changing priorities, resolve conflicts and be able to work well under pressure.
• Requires oral and written communication skills sufficient to communicate clearly with peers and customers and provide the documentation needed in working on projects.
• Requires development skills sufficient to solve difficult and complex technical problems.
• Experience working with cloud/on-prem and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Ability to work independently or as a part of a team that includes both business and IT personnel.
• Computer Skills – Ability to understand complex system applications and have experience in all aspects of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, testing.
• Experience – applicable work and/or experience in Computer Systems Development.
• Agile project methodology experience required
