Our client, one of the top Investment Banking and Advisory firms in the world, is seeking a talented VB/ASP.NET Web Developer. This is a full-time permanent position located onsite in Huntington, Long Island.

The firm has done almost $3 trillion in advised transactions worldwide, and work with some of the largest companies in the world. Skills in the following areas include C#.NET & VB programming (heavier as there is a lot of legacy code), DevExpress, Bootstrap, Style Sheets, SQL Server, Visual Studio, MS Office Suite, HTML, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all phases of the software development life cycle activities from analysis of application requirements through design and implementation to technical support and maintenance.
• Apply technical expertise of UI design and development through to business and data tier design and development of SQL Server (Transact-SQL).
• Performing data modeling and database development.
• Collaborate application build, deployments, and test guidance.
• Development of unit testing and debugging.
• Mobile ready form design/coding/debugging using bootstrap, CSS, HTML5, and DevExpress.
• SQL & relational design, Crystal Reports, DevExpress reports, server-side design/coding.
• Data modeling and database design. Able to create an efficient physical database design from a logical data model and application specifications. If the data resource management discipline has not been created.
• Responsible for data modeling, normalization, and conceptual and logical design.
• Implement an appropriate database backup and recovery strategy based on data volatility and application availability requirements.
• Design databases so that only accurate and appropriate data is entered and maintained.
• Proactively monitor the database environment and to make changes to data structures, SQL, application logic or the DBMS subsystem to optimize performance.
• Ensure data availability using non-disruptive administration tactics.
• Help design, debug, implement, and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions that are stored in the DBMS.
• Ensure that only authorized users have access to data. This requires the implementation of a rigorous security infrastructure for production and test databases, and a database auditing capability to document compliance.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience
• VB/C# ASP.NET development skills, including Web Forms
• Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL skills
• DevExpress experience a plus
• Solid HTML/CSS/JQUERY/Bootstrap
• Experience in Client-Side JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap
• Must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively and implement/understand professional standards for developing and documenting code
• Structured programming experience
• Experience in front and backend debugging tools (browser based, Fiddler etc.)
