Responsibilities

We are looking for a rock star UX Designer to join a talented team within our Digital Experience area. As a UX Designer you will have a solid understanding of UX and design principles and a strategic mind to apply them in creating clean, simple, intuitive and branded experiences. Our team collaborates with business partners and other UX teams to create innovative experiences for agents, contact centers, claims and underwriting associates as well as State Farm customers. As a UX Designer, you will take a user centered design approach to identify user needs, conduct research, and build solutions. In other words, you are a skilled designer, you love the work and you enjoy doing it with others.

We're looking for someone who:

  1. Has a passion for creating beautiful design and conceptually smart experiences that make people smile
  2. Creates digital asset and overall visual design direction for digital user experience work
  3. Is familiar with CX principles, personas, journey mapping, empathy mapping and other UX processes
  4. Is a clear communicator while working with teams across the State Farm ecosystem
  5. Creates clean, creative digital visuals that are consistent with the State Farm brand and strategy
  6. Articulates User Experience (UX) concepts and solutions and advocates for customer-centric designs
  7. Knows how to take direction and run but can also help lead others when necessary
  8. Executes on digital experience design projects - from concept through to production



This is a "Hybrid" position, which means selected candidates will be assigned to a facility and will spend some time working both in office and from their home.

Incumbency: This position will have a 18-month incumbency period, beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Employees may be considered for leadership or Technology Engineer openings at any time, and a promotional position within the same job structure (i.e. Professional/Technical or Paraprofessional/Support) after 6 months from the effective date of the position. In these cases, the remaining incumbency would be waived. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.

Qualifications

This position is for an experienced UX Designer. Competitive candidates will have:

  • 5+ years of experience as UX designer or similar role
  • A solid Design Portfolio


Preferred skills/experience:

  • Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, InVision, Figma
  • Exposure to iOS and Android
  • Exceptional graphic design skills with UX architecture knowledge/understanding
  • Proven ability to lead creative work and partner with business areas to build outstanding user experiences
  • Past experience taking input from multi-disciplinary teams and creating meaningful, interactive design prototypes and artifacts
  • Skilled at working with peers and other UX practitioners to manage the design workflow and scope via iterative, rapid cycles of UX design and research and ensuring design outcomes meet solution requirements and objectives
