Job Description:

There is an opportunity for a position within Global Markets Technology FICC organization for a programmer to join the Development and Technology Group. The development position requires someone with strong technical skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and be able to deliver a first class solution. This team works closely with other teams across the FICC business to provide automation tooling, management reporting, and other horizontal solutions. Being able to automate processes, find efficiencies and build tools are essential in order to strive in this fast paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities
- Building applications, tools, and reports in JavaScript
- Generation of unit tests to ensure future reliability of code
- Active participation in team development processes & ceremonies

Required Skills

- Web programming experience in JavaScript and related technologies is required

- Experience with recent React versions is a major plus

- Python experience is a plus

- Ability to analyze and solve technical problems quickly and effectively
- Understanding of software development lifecycle
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI tooling
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and must be a team player
- Ability to work independently on projects and manage concurrent tasks
- Strong communication skills, with a global team - both written and oral

- Understanding/Knowledge of large scale application infrastructure technologies including databases, middleware, batch schedulers, grids, etc. is a plus

LOB General:

Responsible for developing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. Familiar with development and testing practices of the bank. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance); Analyzes test reports, identifies any test issues/errors; Triages the underlying cause. Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Participates, contributes and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes. Individual contributor.
