Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer responsible for collaborating across the Server Operations Team creating technical documentation and technical artifacts of hosted applications and hosted systems. This role will also work within the area of assisting the creation of technical security related artifacts of applications and systems as part of security accreditation process.

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 PM core hours with occasional after hours’ onsite work to support both a NIPR and SIPR environment.

Position Overview:

• Work with application teams to produce and improve hosted applications and system documentation in the areas of specifications and system and software product information
• Drive documentation process improvement initiatives in the Server Operations area
• Understand both the hosted system and application and the technical details of the system to be able to effectively produce high-quality documentation
• Coordinate with different stakeholders and team members across internal technology areas (Server, Virtual, and Database operations) and examine applications and systems to help derive information for documentation
• Investigate and learn the technology and hosting processes and application and system functionalities that need documentation
• Update server and system guides for internal operations and hosting operations to cover gaps and new hosted functionality
• Create upgrade, installation plans, technology and hosting practice descriptions, and other application documentation
• Prepare release notes and hosting notes for internal and external customer use

Required:

• This position requires an active DOD Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree or at least five (5) years of equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in writing technical documentation for end-to-end use
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience writing instructions for end-to-end use of business/enterprise software or web applications
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with writing user guides, training plans, etc.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working directly with technology and operations teams as part of the application and system hosting processes.
• Experience implementing new documentation practices and using tools with in a hosting environment
