Are you an experienced technical writer looking for their next contract role? Then, this is the right post for you to keep reading! My client, a great company to work for and to have on your resume, is looking to onboard a technical writer for their Boston team.

The Technical Writer is responsible for delivering high-quality documents adherent to FMI's Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Agile teams and will understand the value of Agile software development.

  • Office located in Seaport District, Boston, 02210
  • 6 month contract

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Technical Writer will collaborate with multiple Scrum teams who are charged with completing all SDLC documentation before a Production release. He or she will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with team members (subject matter experts) and the Quality Assurance team in authoring clear, concise, consistent, and technically accurate documents, including User/Functional Requirements Specifications, Design Specifications, Software Development Plans, Risk Assessments, and Installation Qualifications/Operational Qualifications (IQs/OQs).
  • Leveraging Atlassian's Confluence/Jira and Microsoft tools to create the required artifacts.
  • Prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.



Basic Qualifications:

  • BA or BS or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a technical writer.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC models, especially Agile principles and practices.
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering succinct and easily understandable documents under tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Experience in a regulated (GxP) environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304 preferred.
  • Experience being part of a Technical Writing team a plus.
