Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Sr. Principal Linux Administrator to join the Electronics and Payloads Special Test Equipment Engineering (STEE) team. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Space programs that provides specialized IT support to Restricted, DOD, Unclassified systems and environments. This position requires knowledge and adherence to Information Assurance processes and procedures per NG InfoSec and program security organizations.

The roles and responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Administration of Linux (RHEL/CENTOS) 5/6/7/8 servers and workstations in a production environment
- Implementation of Security controls for Linux Servers and workstations
- Extensive experience in the deployment of I&T lab environments
- Proven ability to Task and Resource manage in order to meet program milestone
- Experience using Compliance and Remediation tools ( i.e. Nessus, SCC SCAP scanner, STIG Viewer )
- On call, 24/7 pager support during critical phases of testing, contingency operations and off-site as required

Basic Qualifications:

- Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree; or 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's Degree; or 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
- Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
- Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years
- OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
- OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
- Minimum of 5 years working experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5/6/7/8 servers and workstations including the following:
-Ability to install RHEL operating system from media as well as utilizing Kickstart to customize and install packages.
-Partition hard disk space and harden the Linux operating system per program requirements.
-Install RPM packages from the command line as well as through YUM.
-Working experience of user authentication services such as LDAP and Red Hat Directory Server.
-Experience in scripting and interpreting shell scripts and ability to create scripts using bourne or bash scripts.
-Working knowledge and experience of Linux networking and file sharing protocols such as ISCSI, FCoE, LUNS, NIS, CIFS and NFS.
-Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux server applications ( i.e. Samba, NFS, Chrony, Web servers, Databases )
-Working experience with storage appliances, in particular working with Network Appliance (NetApp) and general Cisco networking experience helpful.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Active SCI Clearance and Poly withing last 6 years.
- Meets DOD IAT requirements for security certs or be in the process of obtaining one. (i.e. CISSP, Security+ certification)
- Solid understanding of computer networking ( DNS, WINS, TCP, IP Addressing, Default-Gateway etc...)
- Experienced in the implementation of CMMC/DFARS/RMF/DOD Security Controls on Linux and Windows operating systems ( i.e. Windows SHB and RHEL SSG builds )
- Extensive experience installing, configuring, and operating VMWare and KVM virtualization environments
- Advanced knowledge building, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting IT systems hardware ( i.e. Workstations, Servers, Storage applicances, network switches, rack & stack, cabling )
- Advanced working experience with scripting languages and automation, such as bash, ansible, and/or powershell
- Extensive experienced with SAN/NAS hardware ( i.e Netapp, Linux and Windows file servers, storage appliances )
- Proven experience working with vendors in the identification of new hardware/software technologies to meet program requirements.
- Adept at Performing Backups and Restores using COTS and Open Source tools to implement a disaster recovery plan ( Windows and Linux )

Salary Range: $114,100 USD - $171,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
