Designation: Sr. Data Modeler (Banking)

Base Location: Dallas, Texas

Position Status: Immediate

Visa: Any Visa is Fine.

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related field. Masters in Computing related to scalable and distributed computing is a major plus

What is to be done - JD?

• Participate in requirements definition, analysis, and the design of conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Lead data discovery discussions with Business/Clients/Application SMEs and map the business requirements to conceptual, logical and physical data modeling solutions on Big Data / Hive
• Conduct data model reviews with project team members and capture technical metadata through data modeling tools
• Ensure database designs efficiently support BI and end user requirements
• Drive continual improvement and enhancement of existing systems
• Collaborate with ETL/Data Engineering (Ab Initio, Teradata, Big Data, Spark) teams to create data process pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
• Collaborate with Data Architects/Engineers for data model management, documentation, and version control
• Capture CDE (Critical Data Elements) and work with Business/Data Engineers to translate into Edit check rules, Data Quality check scenarios

Experience in Tools & Technology Skills

• 10+ years of strong Data Analysis and Data Profiling skills.
• 8+ years of strong Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modeling.
• Have strong experience in data modeling, big data or data profiling tools.
• Fluent in both normalized and dimensional model disciplines and techniques.
• Experience in modelling Datawarehouse and Data Lake environments.
• Strong Experience in Data Analysis, Data Modeling and Data Profiling using ERWIN or another industry standard tool for databases like Oracle, Teradata, AWS type databases.
• Hands on experience with SQL (HQL, Spark SQL, Sybase, Oracle) and PL/SQL.
• Exposure to ETL tools (Informatica, Teradata, Ab Initio) and Spark (Python or Scala) or other industry leading tools.
• Good knowledge or experience with Snowflake, Other Cloud base Datawarehouse design and management.
• Data-driven mentality. Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented.
• Exposure to AWS, OpenShift, Snowflake would be added advantage.
• Experience on project management framework Agile (Jira toolset).
