Pls note: For now, most of the team is working remotely, HOWEVER, the expectation will be that once offices reopen, these consultants MAY be required to work ON SITE 1-2 days a week. The selected candidates will be required to pick up equipment IN PERSON from the VEC office. Pls make sure your candidate is aware and agrees to this arrangement before submitting. Parking is NOT provided for contractors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a SQL Developer this position is responsible for IT phases of the system development lifecycle (SDLC) of one or more automated IT applications, systems and software. Confer with analysts, domain experts and users to understand and document requirements, estimate levels of effort and meet system needs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in active discussions with team members and users to understand business requirements

Work closely with IT, Architecture, Business Analysts and Report Developers to achieve business objectives

Produce Ad Hoc Reports to answer business questions quickly and thoroughly

Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve data quality and performance issues

Provide accurate level of effort estimates for data integration development to management

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Experience in SQL Server / Query Design in large-scale data warehouse environments

Strong knowledge of SQL and Stored Procedures

Ability to perform detailed business analysis and design

Experience in data integration development using ETL methodology

Experience in data collection and database/report design

Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel

Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties

Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations

Knowledge of different ETL design and development methodologies.
