Our client in Plymouth Meeting, PA is looking for a Database Developer to join their team. This is a 6+ month contract to hire. There will be great flexibility with remote working from home. Candidate must be local enough to sometimes come into the office when needed.

Position Description:

• Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable data code

• Design database tables and structures

• Build views, functions, and stored procedures

• Use a cloud first approach in AWS

• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications

• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

• Build and optimize queries and stored procedures in SQL Server databases for integration with applications

• Collaborate with a team of on and offshore developers

• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming and retrospectives during two-week sprints

Required Skills:

• Solid understanding of ETL principles 5+ years of experience as a database developer

• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server

• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable data processing

• Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes

• Understanding of code versioning tools such as Git

• Experience with databases in cloud providers such as AWS

• Experience with Agile software development lifecycle tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
