JOB SUMMARY / ORGANIZATION IMPACT :
The IoT Quality Assurance Lead works collaboratively with technical and management staff to ensure the delivery of quality Internet of Things hardware and software products & services to our customers. The IoT QA Lead acts as a Subject Matter Expert for various features and/or modules of the product and leads testing efforts for assigned software development and maintenance projects within the organization and 3 rd parties as part of a defined software development life cycle. This individual must have software AND hardware QA experience to be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant QA matters, often requiring coordination between organizations
  • Consistently act as an advocate for the end-user, ensuring a high-quality user experience, and recommending improvements or revisions to the engineering team
  • Consults with technical and management staff throughout the project life cycle to assist and support the design, development, and implementation of effective systems
  • Research, plan, & develop test rigs for IoT hardware tests
  • Manage or lead 3 rd party partner QA teams in their testing efforts
  • Develop and implement quality best practices
  • Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented, and all problems are resolved. Analyzes, designs new or modified Quality Assurance procedures and standards, and assist in the development and implementation of QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered application software
  • Compare software functionality with specifications and documentation
  • This role requires the individual be in Tampa, Florida (relocation is available for non-local candidates)


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education in engineering or computer science
  • Experience with the QA of both software and hardware products
  • 4+ years mobile app testing experience
  • 2+ years test automation experience
  • Exceptional knowledge of common test methodologies: integrations, regression, performance, and security tests
  • Extremely well-versed in quality engineering and the entire Software Development Lifecycle
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail
  • Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment within a small team that collaborates with multiple teams working on multiple projects
  • Capable of learning new technologies at an accelerated level


PREFERRED

  • Z-Wave, Bluetooth, or LTE experience
  • Knowledge of and design of test fixtures (rigs) for hardware devices
