Job Description
LIM College-Where Business Meets Fashion is currently seeking candidates for the Senior Systems Administrator role.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

LIM College educates students for success in the global business of fashion and its many related industries. Located in midtown Manhattan - the fashion capital of the world - and devoted exclusively to the study of business and fashion, LIM College fosters a unique connection between real-world experience and academic study in business principles. Undergraduate students may major in Fashion Merchandising, International Business, Management, Marketing or Visual Merchandising. At the graduate level, LIM College offers an MPS programs in Fashion Marketing, Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management, Global Fashion Supply Chain Management, and Visual Merchandising.
This position will also work with the Senior Director of IT in defining technology requirements; assessing server, storage and infrastructure sizing; analyzing hardware sizing to meet application requirements; and designing load balancing/clustering solutions. This position will work with the Senior Director of IT overseeing and building technology plans, standards for procedures, and policies as they relate to IT Systems architecture. This position will collaborate community stakeholders; review new and existing IT projects, systems designs and maintenance plans, and conducting research on emerging technologies to support changes in system's infrastructure, and report recommendations to the Chief Technology Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
1. Lead administrator of LIM College’s Virtual Server Infrastructure.
  • VSphere ESX and ESXi Infrastructure
  • Cisco UCS Blade Servers
  • HP c Series Blade Servers
  • VCOPS
2. Developing, implementing and overseeing policies and procedures to ensure consistent storage provisioning, uptime, security and data protection.
  • EMC VNX & Storage Array technologies
3. Developing, implementing and overseeing policies and procedures in the creation of a maintenance and alerting service management cycle for LIM College’s Server Systems.
  • Hardware Lifecycle

4. Lead the design, implementation and support of a 2012 & 2016 Active Directory infrastructure platform. Define enterprise policies, standards and position statements for new and existing AD related technologies.

5. Lead Administrator for Microsoft 365 tenant and Azure

9. Ensure the safety and security of LIM College’s systems.
10. Providing direct supervision and mentoring of the System’s Administrator, Jr. Administrator and Systems Support Technician by setting the work pace, and possibly evaluating performance.

REQUIREMENTS: The person selected will have the following qualifications:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required
  • A minimum of 10 years in the Administration of Microsoft Windows Server Environment
  • 5 years of management of Systems Administrators or Systems team
  • Expert in the Administration of Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Server, 2012, 2016, 2019 Server, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Apache Web Servers
  • Strong Administration in 365 Exchange
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
  • Strong knowledge of virtual environments and SAN’s
  • Strong knowledge is 365 and Azure Ecosystems
  • Strong knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager
  • Strong software and hardware troubleshooting skills of servers, desktops, and peripherals
  • Any Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare or related technology certification is a plus
    • Hardware: All X86, X64 Servers, Workstations, and Laptops technologies; HP, Dell, IBM, SAN,, and backup devices
    • Systems: Windows 10-11, Server , 2012, 2016, 2019 , Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), VMWare vSphere 7, ESX and ESXi 6 & 7 . 365 Exchange Hybrid Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystems.
    • Networking: Virtual Switches, Understand Vlan concepts, and Networking Core Concepts
    • Software: Nearly all major software suites including but not limited to Microsoft Office Adobe Creative Cloud,3rd party applications, Web based applications, SaaS applications
    • Scripting: PowerShell Microsoft framework for automation, configuration, and management of 365 and Microsoft infrastructure
