Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer - Surgical Robotics

You will:
Design and develop control algorithms and supporting tools using Simulink/MATLAB on a real-time operating system and control platform
Design, develop, and support testing tools and software to enable the verification and validation of the controls software
Define and review software requirements pertaining to controls and robot kinematics
Define and execute verification plans. Test software and fix defects.
Review teammates Simulink models and ensure that all software meets quality standards. Prepare and participate in design reviews.
Document or participate in the documentation of the software including architecture and design detail, unit testing, anomaly tracking and reports.

Qualifications
Must Have: Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have:
Bachelor's Degree and five years of relevant experience, Master's or PhD degree preferred.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and analyzing control systems for highly accurate mechatronic and robotic systems.
Proficient use of controls software development tools and languages (MATLAB/Simulink preferred)
Experience launching commercial products, preferably in the medical technology area
Knowledge of robotics and multi-body kinematics and dynamics
Knowledge of software development process and common development tools
Hands-on experience with medical product development - regulator processes, safety considerations, hands-on experience with medical/surgical devices/instruments.
Experience launching commercial medical software products
Experience in implementing fast control loops, particularly those involving motors and sensors.
Knowledge of surgical robotics and minimally invasive surgery
Fluency in English (German a plus)
Bachelor's Degree and five years of relevant experience, Master's or PhD degree preferred.
