SAP HANA DBA

Medline has an immediate opening for an experienced Sr. HANA DBA for its SAP Run Team. There are multiple multi-terabyte HANA databases to manage within the company. Other databases in use include Oracle, SQLServer and MySql systems. The HANA DBA will be part Run Team (Basis Team). He will provide the highest level of technical knowledge and consulting to ensure HANA systems have the highest availability and steer the way to incorporate checks and alerts for a smooth operation of our HANA databases. He will need to have very excellent level of troubleshooting skills with any performance issue or hangs that the database is encountering.

Job responsibilities include:

Integration of SAP HANA into different remote systems.
Conducts monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of SAP HANA systems.
Sets up alerts and checks to detect potential problems creeping up, and use knowledge and skills to prevent them from happening.
HANA system administration using SAP HANA Cockpit and HANA Studio.

Adding systems to HANA cockpit and configure SSO for HANA systems.
Implementing SAP HANA Table management techniques - data compression, table partition, compression techniques, and load/unload table into memory.
HANA Installation, Data Provisioning, Admin.

Provide L2 Basis support on day-to-day issues when needed.

Ongoing tuning of HANA systems using EWA, HANA Notes, TPO, TPV, etc.

Skills / Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related.

5+ years of experience as a HANA Database Administrator and 3+ years of SAP Basis administration experience.

Experience using SAP transactions to monitor health of HANA

Experience with the running of trace and analyze the log files generated for further diagnosis
Experience managing users and roles in SAP HANA system.

Shell scripting skills and familiarity of Linux/Unix/Windows systems.

Willing to work occasional weekends and be on a rotating on-call schedule.
