The Data Insights + Analytics Group are data storytellers who meaningfully inform the decision-makers that drive the financial health of our nation's economy. We champion data quality through innovative solutions, timely reporting, tech automation, and collaborative support of the Twelfth District and our System partners. As an analyst on the Bank Credit team, you will draw upon your knowledge of finance, accounting, economics, and data analytics to collaborate with a dynamic team whose primary focus is to ensure that data collected are fit for its intended use by the Board of Governors and other divisions within the Bank, including Supervision and Credit. This data is also used more broadly by financial institutions and the public.

As an analyst on the Bank Credit team, you will draw upon your knowledge of finance, accounting, economics, and data analytics to collaborate with a dynamic team whose primary focus is to ensure that data collected are fit for its intended use by the Board of Governors and other divisions within the Bank, including Supervision and Credit. This data is also used more broadly by financial institutions and the public.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex financial and regulatory reports data to ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
  • Perform research on regulatory, banking, and accounting changes, and provide assessment of impact to current processes. Support team members to ensure that processing guidelines are followed
  • Develop analytical approaches to evaluate Bank Credit and Call Report data using a variety of applications to identify inconsistencies, trends, and anomalies in support of our data owners; you will share these approaches locally and more broadly across the Bank and System
  • Utilize understanding of report instructions, policies, procedures, and related regulations and/or accounting concepts to review and process reserves, financial, and/or structure data in a timely manner.
  • Work with our partners to clarify, explain, and interpret banking regulations, reserve requirements, or reporting instructions
  • Represent the team on cross-functional projects within the Data Insights + Analytics Group that lead to operational improvement, increased subject matter knowledge, enhanced analysis, and higher quality of data
  • Contribute subject matter knowledge of financial reporting to System workgroups, projects, training, or development of analytical tools
  • Lead team projects to streamline work processes, and to implement new rules, regulations, and operating policies within Data Insights +Analytics



Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you should be able to demonstrate your expertise with financial data analysis, a growth-mentality, and an innovative approach when taking on new challenges. Additionally, you should exhibit strong behavioral characteristics including collaboration, emotional intelligence, influence, and critical thinking. Specific qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent certification
  • 2+ years of related experience, including internships, within the banking industry, regulatory/SEC reporting, accounting for a public company, or auditing
  • CPA eligible candidate is a plus
  • Prior experience analyzing data sets
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong time management skills shown by consistently meeting targets and balancing shifting priorities
  • Communicating complex issues succinctly
  • Experience collaborating with others to meet goals
  • Proven track record to communicate complex issues succinctly
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or hold a permanent resident/green card with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.

Location:

Currently we are working remotely and will return to the office when approved by Bank leadership. At that time, this position will be based at our San Francisco, CA head office located at 101 Market Street with easy Bay Area commute access via the Embarcadero BART station and ferries at the nearby San Francisco Ferry Building.
