Overview

VariQ is looking for an Oracle DBA for our client in Richardson, TX.

Additional Information:

• Salary: Dependent upon experience
• Technologies need: ORACLE L3
• Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Configuration management, performance tuning, and administration of mission-critical production databases
• Perform short and long term system/database planning and analysis
• Integrate/collaborate with application development and support teams on various IT projects
• Contributing to the improvement or Standard Procedures and Documentation
• Providing Production database support
• Providing input on Oracle database architectures and strategies to meet application availability, scalability, and performance requirements
• Working on Change Tasks and Incidents to fix or enhance various applications using oracle Databases.

Qualifications

• Years of Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience as an Oracle production and development DBA on Unix/Windows in a 24x7 environment
  • 5+ years experience configuring and managing Data Guard databases
  • 3+ years in SQL and PL/SQL scripting and tuning
  • 3+ years in Unix shell scripting
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle internals
• Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Experience in various database backup and recovery methods
• Structured Root Cause Analysis
• Pro-active database management
• Experience with Oracle RAC 11G and 12C, troubleshooting and issue resolution in RAC environment
• Oracle Enterprise Manager
• RMAN backup and recovery
• Experience with GoldenGate
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Be able to support multiple projects/applications at once
• On-call support 24x7
• Result-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently
