TeraThink Role: Software Engineer

Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship per Client Request

What You Will Do:

As a Software Engineer, you will do the following:

• This role will be primarily remote, with 2 days a week at Reston office
• Develop a next generation web application for our USDA client
• Work with AGILE SCRUM and direct involvement in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Develop applications utilizing .NET Core, JavaScript, MuleSoft, and SQLServer n-tiered architecture
• Integrate with various web services (SOA) in a variety of formats (XML, JSON)
• Perform basic system administration tasks in an Azure environment

What We are Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree from a four year college/university
• Must have 2-3+ years experience in related field
• Solid understanding of MVC framework in (either ASP.NET, Java Spring, or equivalent)
• Developing new user-facing features using CSS, JavaScript and HTML
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browser
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, Microsoft TFS)
• Proven ability to analyze problems, root causes, and develop innovative solutions to business challenges and streamlining operations

What We Would Like to See:

• Experience with application monitoring in Kibana
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Sass, Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Experience with tiered-API designs
• Experience in responsive design
• USDA / Federal experience
