Title: Senior Principal Software Engineer

Job Description

Mission driven company in the pharmaceutical space, they are trying to lower the cost of prescription drugs here in the US. One of the reasons costs are so high is there are 3 main companies that control distribution (CVS, Walgreens, Express Scripts), and they are not open about how pricing works. Their platform is being marketed toward large, enterprise companies (1k+ employees), and pulls data related to pharmaceutical costs of the employees to create leverage for the companies to negotiate prices. The long term vision is to get several hundred companies using the system, creating a very robust data set, allowing for leverage to make real change!

The candidate will be a member of the engineering team developing high-quality application components, web services and APIs that make up the foundation of the core platform. You will be a member of the architecture and design team tasked with developing systems and components aligned to the company's vision. You will work closely with product managers, users, front-end developers to understand requirements and constraints. The candidate will also be building robust and scalable software in Java, write well designed code, complete automated tests in a timely manner, and be able to release cycle deployment of applications to different environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 5 years' experience in developing scalable and reusable Java Component.

• At least 3 years' experience with Spring Boot and JPA.

• JAVA, Spring, Javascript, AWS.
• Familiarity with the core architectural components of the JPA framework.

• Building robust and scalable software in Java.

• Java Streams API and using Lambda architecture to build processing frameworks.
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate, Eclipse Link).
• Experience with test-driven development using JUnit 5.
• Front-end development using React/Redux.
• Experience in Java, Javascript, and TypeScript.
• Experience using Jira.
• Experience with AWS RDS, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Lambda.
