RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in NYC that is looking for a Java Architect around Risk Computations. This person should be sitting around the NY Metro Area. This is a fully remote position for now, but once the office opens back up will be expected to do a hybrid (2-3 days in the office).

Summary:
The Java Architect will join a front office development team and work with global Risk team to deliver best in class solution for the Global Spread Products business. This challenging role will focus on building out the strategic Risk platform using microservices architecture and cloud compute. The successful candidate will define the system architecture and design and implement distributed, high throughput solutions for the risk calculation and visualization platforms.

Responsibilities:
* Java Architect will be keeping track of projects and task assigned to the team, including communicating weekly status to senior management; Manage and own problem reporting & resolution of Risk platform
* Collaborate and partner closely with development leads and production support teams to ensure end-to-end delivery of projects assigned
* Active involvement in Analysis and development of components/flows for Credit Risk per evolving business requirements
* Second line support developed components (investigation of problems that front-line support cannot resolve)
* As a Java Architect, you will develop a common Risk infrastructure across various businesses (Flow, EM, Retail, Structured Credit etc.)
* Gathering requirements for new functionality from business users; Offering timely solutions; Developing, testing, and implementing these solutions
* Supporting and enhancing the existing infrastructure and applications across a variety of technologies (Java, Clojure, Scala, RBDMS, NoSQL)
* Building in-depth understanding of credit IT applications and flows
* The Java Architect will be balancing fast time to market (client delivery) with proper governance, compliance, and audit mandates

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
* 6-10 years of relevant experience in Core Java and other technologies ( Clojure, Scala,
RBDMS, NoSQL)
* Experience in developing real-time, on-demand, and batch Risk applications for Market Risk
and Credit Risk
* Experience within Risk computation in spread products space and/or risk computations in any market space
* Experience in building out platforms with services deployed on Cloud and using Cloud
compute, especially external cloud (AWS, GCP)
* Good understanding of Spread financial products, such as bonds, credit derivatives,
mortgage derivatives
* Extensive experience with system analysis and in programming of software applications
* Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
* Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
* Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
* Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
