We are currently hiring an IT Project Manager in Boston.

The Boston Beer IT Team is responsible for delivering world class technology solutions to Boston Beer. Our team is responsible for technical infrastructure, digital workspace solutions, software application development and business intelligence and analytics platforms for Boston Beer. We enable our employees to be productive at home or in the office, enable our breweries to operate efficiently and allow our Sales, Brand and Merchandising teams to generate demand for Boston Beer products and to facilitate selling of products to our customers (Truly, Twisted Tea, Angry Orchard and more). We are responsible for some of the most critical technology platforms at Boston Beer.

As an IT Project Manager, you will plan, execute, and lead key IT projects to meet deadlines and within budget. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning work, assessing resource availability, securing, and managing external resources where needed, tracking and communicating progress on key IT projects. The IT Project Manager will work closely with all areas of IT, including, Business Systems, Application Development and Support, Infrastructure, and Business intelligence teams. The IT Project Manager must possess a deep understanding of strategic goals and implement technology solutions that make a direct impact upon the company mission. The Project Manager must have a combination of technical, organizational and communication skills.

What You'll Do

Responsible for all project management lifecycle activities including (but not limited to):

  • Initiating projects: Work with IT leaders to understand and enhance the roadmap of IT work and to clarify the current challenges, understand the complexity of work, and for initiatives that require project management, work with the team to define options to address it technically using existing systems or 3rd party vendors, establish high level scope and budget, quantify the business benefits, and propose recommended solution(s) via documentation and presentations to senior management
  • Planning projects: Perform extended requirements gathering, finalize scope, develop RFP(s), develop schedule to minimize conflict between business activities and concurrent projects, finalize initial project budget and timeline, document all above planning steps
  • Executing and Monitoring projects: Act as the primary point of contact on the project, moderate project status meetings, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks, ensure projects are performing to scope, budget, and timeline, communicate changes, provide appropriate status reports to senior management and stakeholders, develop test plans, and coordinate their execution
  • Understand business processes and user requirements to gain in depth knowledge ahead of future IT projects and initiatives
  • Partner with other IT project managers and systems analysts to develop, improve, and champion project management practices at Boston Beer.
  • Ensure that projects in the organization are following company adopted standards and best practices, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Partner with IT team members to promote and evolve design, development, and testing standards for projects
  • Adhere to IT department policies and procedures when performing tasks to ensure controls are in place and departmental goals are met. Adhere to standards for testing, documentation, and change management

Occasional travel may be required (<10%) to Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Ohio breweries.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of Information Technology project management experience (including development of requirements, testing plans, project plans, and overall project management responsibility.)
  • Experience with agile and waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Experience in of the following areas: ERP systems, supply chain, business intelligence, financial, planning and forecasting, manufacturing systems
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with project management/SDLC software with Workfront and Jira preferred.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology and consumer goods / manufacturing industry strongly preferred
  • Experience within the alcoholic beverage industry experience (beer, wine and / or spirits) a plus.
