Installs, configures, maintains and performs testing of RHEL 7 and above operating systems, related utilities, applications, and hardware. Responsible for troubleshooting server-based hardware, operating system and software problems. Monitors systems activities and fine tunes configuration to optimize performance. Performs system utilization analysis to ensure systems are following best practices for security and utilization. Develops procedures for routine administration including: design, patching, deploying software, implementing changes, and server configuration. Provides recommendations for improving the server environment.
Roles and responsibilities:
Perform Server troubleshooting, updating, maintaining security compliance, client data protection services, and document creation.
Deploy new applications, application updates, security updates/patches and report creation.
Facilitates installation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and production release of new enterprise applications.
Scripts procedures and processes for automation.
Provides support and participates in project teams to install new equipment or technologies.
Administration: Coordinates vendor on-site activities, clearance requirements, support communications, and documentation.
Teamwork and Leadership: Works closely with other operation groups. Provides leadership in resolving problems and providing feedback on processes and procedures.
Stays current on system technologies.

Required technical experience
At least 5-7 years of relevant system administration experience
Communication skills: Ability to describe problems and their solutions to non-IT workers.

Minimum:
Demonstrates proficient troubleshooting skills
Demonstrates understanding of Server OS, storage management (LVM & multipath)
Demonstrates understanding of networking, including DNS, subnet masks and gateways.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate new processes, convey changes to others, and gain organizational support for making changes.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Desired:
VMware, Clustering (PaceMaker)
Performance tuning , Dell open manage, Scripting, X86 Dell hardware.

Required education and certifications
Minimum:
AA/AS in Business or Computer Systems
Desired:
B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, business administration or other relevant field required.
