Responsibilities
Performs advanced (senior-level) Informatica specific developer/programmer analyst work including data modeling, implementing, designing and managing database systems, data warehouses, and ETL Data Interfaces.
Informatica ETL Developer/Programmer – working lead
- Able to lead a team of ETL developers to include individual contribution in development of code.
- Development of ETL mappings and workflows for data movement with PowerCenter.
- Performs discovery of and translation of COBOL programs, VSAM, and IMS to relational database structures.
- Refactoring of database ETL scripts from mainframe IMS databases to Oracle RDMS.
- Determines database requirements by analyzing business operations, applications, and programming; reviewing business objectives; and evaluating current systems.
- Obtains data model requirements, develops and implements data models for new projects, and maintains existing data models and data architectures.
- Performs root cause analyses (RDA) related to information issues and non-conformance to published data standards based on review of technical metadata of various source systems.
- Creates graphics and other flow diagrams (including ERD) to show complex database design and database modeling more simply.
- May plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Experience with Informatica Navigator to create mainframe Capture Registrations.
- Practical experience with static maps and Change Data Capture (CDC) for bulk data movement.
- Creation of technical documentation for process and interface documentation is a key element of this role, as the Team is working on release one of a minimum four release effort.
- Ability to review the work of others, troubleshoot, and provide feedback and guidance to meet tight deliverable deadlines is required.
The Worker will apply their expert knowledge of Informatica workflow and mapping development, in understanding and leading the direction of the team, and assistance with Informatica-related knowledge transfer or training of staff is needed for development of Informatica mappings and workflows to support the needs of internal Mainframe Transformation project teams.
