Job Description

Job Profile Summary:
CAI is seeking an Interactive Developer. As a Developer, you will participate in the full life-cycle development for web sites and build front-end templates using core web technology (html, css, javascript). This is an on site position. Responsibilities and duties:

  • Work with team to author project documentation including wireframes, technical specifications, feature sets, business logic, development and deployment procedures

  • Assist development lead and/or project managers in breaking down project tasks into measurable development stories, and provide accurate estimates to complete assigned tasks

  • Develop front-end web solutions that integrate well with content managed solutions and meet client expectations and business requirements

  • Identify problems (layout, design, usability, etc.) and resolve them with project managers, development leads and designers

  • Develop systems, templates and modules that are scalable and reusable to reduce development time and increase profitability, while adhering to best practices and standards

  • Design, code and test websites and applications, ensuring a high quality of product through unit testing

  • Keep current with advances in web technologies and monitor industry trends in web development, tools and tech

  • All other responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

  • An Associate's Degree or professional technical training in Computer Science or Graphic Design or equivalent. Related work experience can be substituted for the educational requirements.

  • 3+ years of developing for the web.

  • Experience working in fast pace development environment where development is driven by aggressive time lines and within preset budgets.

  • Experience working with other team members on larger projects.

  • Solid understanding of the Web Development Life Cycle and its phases.

  • Ability to code to the requirements documentation, and a solid knowledge of how the pieces of a content managed site fit together for the purpose of meeting the requirements of the technical specifications

  • Detail-oriented approach to testing and able to minimize bugs

  • Advanced skills with executing project development tasks using web technologies such as:

    • HTML

    • CSS

    • JavaScript/Angular/jQuery/AJAX

    • Mobile Site and hybrid App Development

    • Data Formats (XML/JSON)

    • Basic .htaccess

    • WCAG compliance

    • SEO Basics and implementation

    • Web fonts and embedding

    • Source Control (Git)

    • Website speed and performance testing and optimization

    • Debugging Tools and IDE's

    • Cross Browser and Cross Platform unit testing

    • 3+ years developing content managed websites using WordPress

    • 3+ years developing content managed websites using Drupal

    • Additional content management experience (Umbraco, Joomla!, DNN, SquareSpace, Wix, etc.)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor
