One of our clients is looking for the position of Database Administrator based on following skills:

Position is only for contractors who can work in Hybrid mode: M/Tu/W at home, Th/F in the office every week

Allocation: 60% at home, 40% in the office

Requirement Description:

The candidate will be supporting Client’s databases, reports, and integrations. The ideal candidate will provide advanced database administration that supports our various applications, integrations, and reports.

This position will function as a highly technical database administrator with specific qualities that include:

• Being a fully autonomous, self-learning, and self-motivated database administrator.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft-based database technologies and tools.
• Proven ability to adapt to any database technology as needed.
• Ability to identify common support incidents quickly and implement permanent resolutions effectively.
• Ability to lead projects from inception to completion either as an individual contributor or as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with users in both IT and the business.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in Database Management System selection and maintains database performance.
• Knowledge of various Database Management System products.
• Provide status of work to Project Team Lead.
• Engage in ongoing process improvement.
• Database design, installations, and conversions.
• Database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design, and data storage management.
• Business Systems analysis and design experience.
• Logical data modeling.
• Knowledge of production environment tools/utilities.
• Knowledge of database analysis and database management techniques.
• Administration and scripting experience.
• Author shell scripts to perform back up, restore, and monitoring tasks.
• Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the team.
• Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Identify and track issues, risks, and action items.
• Skilled data dictionary analysis and data model analysis design.
• Maintain a central data repository.
• Knowledge in supporting application system development life cycle.
• Data dictionary backup and recovery
• Defining standards and data dictionaries.
• Configure dictionary analysis and maintenance software.
• Perform performance tuning.
• Monitor database performance and space requirements.
• Schedule and monitor end of day data warehousing jobs.
• Assis in coordinating software releases.
• Communicate accurate and useful status updates.
• Manager and report time spent on all work activities.
• Follow quality standards.
• Work in a team environment.
• Complete assigned tasks.

Mandatory Requirements/Time

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical study.
• More than 7 years of experience as a database administrator, involving:
• Administrating Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Creating reports using SSRS and Power BI.
• Creating integrations using SSIS.
• Maintaining SQL jobs, permissions, and executing database scripts using SSMS.
• Designing and implementing database models.
• Fine-tuning and resolving issues with database performance.

Desired Skills

• Experience mentoring and leading a team of database administration personnel.

The successful candidate may have to undergo a drug test and background check.
