Job Description

Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) DBA with a focus on PeopleSoft Applications. Skills to be able to provide exceptional support including troubleshooting, performance tuning services, helping client gain the optimum benefit from their Oracle PeopleSoft investment.

This is a remote position. Must be located in the U.S.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for database administration for production and non-production environments on a on-going basis
  • Develop scripts and/or jobs to perform routine database administration tasks
  • Manage backup and recovery of databases
  • Manage implementation of database patches CPUs and PSUs, as well as PeopleSoft Required-for-Install patches
  • Assist PeopleSoft Administrator, Upgrade Lab, Patch/Fix and other teams in planning, tuning, upgrade, and build efforts.
  • Work with the various Architecture Services teams to ensure all architected system components are validated
  • Engaging Oracle Support in an effective manner as and when needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5+ years as a PeopleSoft DBA
  • Understanding of and adherence to Oracle’s Best-Practices for database administration and security.
  • Conceptual understanding of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and the Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of administration or conceptual understanding of Oracle Database technologies:
    • Real Application Clusters (RAC)
    • Automated Storage Management (ASM)
    • Fast Recovery Area (FRA)
    • Data Guard
    • Flashback
    • Recovery Manager (RMAN)
    • Transparent Application Failover (TAF)
    • Oracle Connection Manager (OCM)
    • Patching and maintenance
    • Oracle Cloud Control (OEM)
  • In depth experience performing database tuning and performance analysis
  • Oracle Database certification is a plus
  • OEM installation, configuration, and maintenance experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required

OTHER
