Mackson, an A-TEK Company, is seeking to staff a team of software professionals to build and deploy new systems with web capabilities for our key government customers. We have an immediate opportunity for a Database Administrator (DBA) in our Rockville, MD office. The DBA will also spend time at the customer site in Rockville, MD in support of federal clients.

The Database Administrator will be responsible for providing support to Oracle systems. Tasks will include ensuring accuracy of data, improving database front end, and establishing access permissions. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on financial technologies and provide recommendations for improvements. For this position, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to be able to speak to both IT focused and non-IT focused stakeholders. The individual will be adept at completing multiple projects simultaneously and have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide database administration, reporting, systems administration, and development activities.
• Improving architecture and efficiency of the current schemas and database
• Develop scripts to implement new structures (tables, columns, etc.)
• Develop scripts to perform ETL and migration activities.
• Perform database refresh activities into lower environments.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support multiple Agile Teams.
• Implementing and maintaining access permissions
• Provide requirements analysis, implementation of database concepts, and development of visualization products.
• Organize, create, and maintain documents and effectively communicate status of project to all levels of the organization.
• Prepare documentation of schemas and databases.
• Utilize JIRA to support project flow.
• Utilize Source Control tools such as GIT or Bitbucket.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or related fields with 2-5 years’ experience
• At least 2 years of experience proactively analyzing and developing Oracle data-based assignments based on customer requirements - Erwin, database design, data warehouse building, application database management preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL required.
• Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and know when to seek assistance.
• Demonstrated strength in oral and written communication skills, including professional emails.
