Cox Communications is searching for a Data Analyst II to join our Data Center Network Engineering team. You will support the broader Engineering team in executing multiple projects as part of a new Security program. You will partner with Information Security, IT, and other Engineering teams to deliver projects on-time, resulting in reduced cyber-security risk of internal network and server platforms. You will help to facilitate cross-functional teams to execute on defined deliverables and drives key decisions impacting the success of the new Security program.
You will also support various capabilities as needed. This includes creating, measuring, and communicating the effectiveness and compliance of new processes and procedures. Also, delivering reports, statistics, and recommendations for improvement across the Engineering organization. Additionally, you will perform research and validation of inventory to resolve data integrity issues and execute a cleanup and maintenance strategy.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Perform technical requirements sessions
• Define business processes and align to technical solutions or tools
• Develop 'security health measurements and communicate health relative to standard KPIs
• Develop technical documentation, processes, installation procedures and service guides, and may assist in the development of end-to-end documentation for various projects and supported products/applications.
• Understand taxonomy of Knowledge Management and related systems.
• Maintain, review and/or analyze data files, tables, and reports for inconsistencies
• Compile or import data from various databases into specialized software, databases, or tools to generate reports to support various departments
• Write reports, create charts, presentations, and timelines in support of department or business operations.
• Provide recommendations for operational efficiencies and process improvements and assist in policy development to support change initiatives
• May write code to automate reports and templates and consolidate data into reports and knowledge.
• Support capability development within the delivery organization; including reviews, gap assessments and work to source and deliver strategies.
• Provide and conduct trend analysis to support business operations; may include network capacity planning
• Provide general guidance/direction or train junior level support and professional personnel

Qualifications:
Minimum:

• 2-5 years experience in related field (e.g., IT, Engineering)
• Basic knowledge of network security controls including firewalls, ACLs, IPS/IDS, and application gateways
• Basic knowledge of IP Subnetting and RFC1918
• Basic knowledge of network configuration applied on Routers and Switches (e.g., Cisco, Nokia)
• Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, OpenStack)
• Basic Unix/Linux system knowledge and administrator experience
• Ability to apply data analysis techniques to resolve missing/incomplete information or inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data
• Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms
• Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
• General knowledge and understanding of methodologies and process for managing varying sizes of data sets

Preferred:

• BS/BA in related discipline
• Experience with Tableau
• Knowledge of API design (e.g., REST)
• ITIL Certifications
