Overview
SkyePoint Decisions is seeking experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Springfield, VA and will require an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret. The Cloud Security Engineer will help enable the security of a federal clients cloud environment. The individual must be able to pull and evaluate firewall data logs while also working with data engine output to analyze the effectiveness of the solution. Specific experience with Microsoft Cloud Access Security (MCAS) is highly desirable. Top candidates will be able to execute and enable an already defined cloud architecture and firewall strategy.
Responsibilities
The Cloud Security Engineer will help enable the security of a federal client’s cloud environment. The individual must be able to pull and evaluate security data logs while also working with data engineer output to analyze the effectiveness of the solution. Specific experience with Microsoft Cloud App Security (MCAS) is needed. Top candidates will be able to execute and enable an already defined cloud architecture and security strategy.
Specific tasks include:
- Design and engineer MCAS network security configurations
- Design and engineer MCAS to protect SaaS applications
- Design and engineer firewall changes to ingest firewall logs, recommend firewall changes per log analysis
- Design and engineer MCAS for cloud discovery
- MCAS outboard
- Attend Ap Owner Onboarding Interviews
- Add application as custom connected app in MCAS
- Configure session policy in MCAS
- Tier 3 O&M of MCAS network security configurations
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of a Secret security clearance
- Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience delivering and deploying AD engineering services in a cloud environment
- Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience designing, deploying, and managing Microsoft Cloud App Security
- Candidates must have proven experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- Candidates must have strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Active Directory systems and architecture to include design and configuration of AD role-based access solutions
- Candidates must have the ability to design and build conditional access policies, and processes within Active Directory
- Candidates must have a strong understanding of cloud access security solutions and associated Active Directory engineering
- Candidate should have a strong understanding and experience with Microsoft’s security stack and other M365 security products
- Candidate should have a strong understanding and experience referencing the NIST framework
- Candidate should have an understanding and experience with Identity Access Management (IAM) concepts and technologies
- Candidate should experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies such as Splunk and those native to AWS and Azure
- Experience and understanding with Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) preferred
- Candidates should have experience delivering services to federal clients
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT field is preferred
- Associate-level technical certifications in Microsoft Systems management preferred
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in the IT space
